Throat Chakra
The "Throat Chakra" is associated with the color of the blue mandala. The energy center for clairaudience is in the throat area. When it is open, you may be able to receive communications from your psychic sources. If you inadvertently open your throat chakra when it is not in balance, you may open yourself to more than you want to hear. On the other hand, if you block your throat chakra, you may find yourself frustrated, as this blockage may result in your not being able to receive your internal guidance.
As with other types of psychic abilities, effective use of clairaudience depends on the receiver. You are the mechanism through which the voices, sounds, and music are received. If you are not in total alignment with the signal, you may miss or hear incorrectly the messages from beyond. It is important to take proper care of your gift of hearing.
Before you work on your psychic abilities in clairaudience, it is a good idea to be familiar with how to protect and ground yourself. You may also open and balance your body's energy system to feel the love and peace of the Universe. As you become comfortable and more efficient with the exercises, you will find yourself easily maintaining your psychic energy balance.
Hand Position:
Cross fingers on the inside of your hands, without the thumbs. Let thumbs touch at tops, and pull them slightly up. Focus on the base of the throat. Chant the sound "HAM".

Opening the Throat Chakra:
Use the Chakra Meditation that uses mudras (special hand positions) and sounds to open the chakras. To enhance the effect, the sounds are chanted to cause a resonation in your body that you can feel at the chakra area they are meant for. When the mind becomes really still, for example after a week of intensive meditation practice. We tend to open up to subtle sense impressions that normally would pass by unnoticed. One could say that intensive meditation increases awareness of mental energy.
Sit cross-legged and meditate for 15 to 30 minutes at a time, once or twice per day, while focusing on the slow clockwise movements of the corresponding color of the mandala. Envision the spinning vortex of energy at the location of the throat chakra. Take 7 to 10 deep breaths, breathing in through the nose and exhaling through the mouth, then chant the sounds for approx. three times and breath.
For pronunciation: "A" is pronounced "ah" and "M" is pronounced "mng".
