It starts off with a vague feeling that something just isn't quite 'right'. Sounds appear much harsher on the ears as public venues become too noisy and the crowds now drive you away rather than excite and attract you. You avoid going anywhere the aromas are excessively strong because they have become so over-powering to your sense of smell. Here is a list of many of the signs and symptoms inherent in both the Awakening and the transition into the Octarine stage of Indigo life. As always, common sense, good grounding and a good sense of humor are your best tools for coping. See you on the Other Side!
Changing Sleep Patterns
You may experience restlessness, hot feet, or waking up 2 or 3 times per night (Triad Sleep Pattern) where you sleep for a few hours, wake up, go back to sleep, wake again, and go back to sleep again. Your body will adjust to this new pattern.
Energy Surges Through Your Body
You may be experiencing huge waves of energy running into your body from the crown. At first it feels as though you are being shocked, but after a while it will start to feel good. A tingling, itching, or crawling sensation along the scalp and/or down the spine. What you are experiencing is an opening of the crown chakra. Sometimes the energy seems so intense that it may make you feel nauseated. Just consider the energy as divine and let go of the fear. There is nothing to worry about.
Increased Sensitivity in your Five Senses
Most have sensitivity such as blurred vision, shimmering objects, and auras around people, plants, animals, and objects. When you close your eyes you no longer see darkness, but redness, geometric shapes, colors, or pictures. Colors appear more vivid, and you may see grids running across the ground. If you see white shapes in your peripheral vision these are probably your spirit guides. Your hearing could increase or decrease. Sounds may be painfully amplified, or you may hear white noise, beeps, tones or music in your head. Some hear water rushing, bees buzzing, whooshing, roaring or ringing. Others have what is called audio dyslexia where they can not always make out what people are saying. Some hear voices in their dreams as if someone were near them. This is your ears adjusting to new frequencies. You can now smell and taste chemical additives in some foods in an unpleasant way, and other foods may taste wonderful. You are breathing deeper, and may even be able to smell the fragrance of flowers for no reason, and suddenly everything around you seems to give off an energy field that you can feel as you walk by.
Changes in Weight
Some people lose weight while others may gain because the fears we have suppressed are now coming to the surface. We react by building up a defense, and attempting to ground ourselves against increasing frequencies in our bodies. You may develop strange cravings for odd food choices. Some find they are not as hungry as they used to be, while others are hungrier. Do not deny what your body tells you it needs, and do not panic. You will release or gain the weight when all your fears have subsided.
Invisible Presence
Some people report feeling surrounded by beings at night or having the sensation of being touched or talked to. Often they will wake with a start to feel their body vibrate. These vibrations are caused by energetic changes after emotional clearing has taken place. They may see beings of other dimensions because the veil between dimensions is thinner now, so this is not surprising. Just stay in your sovereignty. You are more powerful than you know. Ask your guides for help if you give into fear. This is a sensitive topic, but you may feel better blessing your bed and space around it before you sleep. Do not beat yourself up for being afraid.
Vivid Dreams
Sometimes your dreams are so real that you wake up confused. Many dreams may be mystical or carry messages for you. Psychic vision is simply our attunement to the realms which we cannot detect with our five senses, while presenting possible and probable outcomes. An increase in psychic sensitivity is one of the signs of spiritual awakening, so embrace it. This vast knowledge is there to guide you. You will remember what is important for you to remember. Do not force anything, and above all, there is nothing to fear.
Increased Intuitive Abilities
You may be thinking of someone and immediately you hear from them. You may have sudden insights about patterns or events from the past, or experience clairvoyance, out-of-body experiences, or other psychic phenomena. You may now be channeling angelic and Christ-consciousness energies. You may also have contact with archangels, spirit guides, and other divine entities. You are now feeling inspiration and downloading information that takes the form of writing, painting, ideas, communications, or dance.
Emotional and Mental Confusion
A feeling that you need to get your life straightened out as it may suddenly feel like a mess, yet at the same time you feel chaotic and unable to focus. You may suddenly feel the desire to break free from restrictive patterns, life-draining jobs, consumptive lifestyles, and toxic people or situations. You feel a compelling need to "find yourself" and your life purpose. You want to be creative and free to be who you really are, and unclutter yourself from things and people that no longer serve you.
Sudden Waves of Emotion
You may be on an emotional roller coaster; crying for no reason, suddenly feeling angry, sad, or depressed, then happy. Old "baggage" seems to be coming up, and the people with whom you need to work it out suddenly appear in your life. Perhaps you have issues of self-worth or addictions. The resources you need to help you move through these issues will start to appear. Do not over analyze or examine them or it will cycle you back through at a deeper level. Seek professional help if need be, but do not try to avoid these issues. Then you can move past it. Often emotions get congested in the heart chakra, so accept your feelings as they come up and let go of them. You are cleaning out your past, so be grateful that your body is releasing them.
Developing Food Intolerances or Allergies
You have become more sensitive to everything around you. Your body will tell you what it can no longer tolerate, and you may start cleansing yourself of toxins. Some people find they often have a white residue in their mouth which can be removed by sloshing 2 Tbsp of cold-pressed olive oil for 10-15 minutes then spitting it out (do not swallow, whatever you do).
Dizziness
You may feel dizziness occurring when you are ungrounded. Perhaps you have just cleared a big emotional issue and your body is adjusting to your "lighter" state. Ground yourself by eating protein. Sometimes "comfort food" just feels right.
Heart Palpitations
A racing heart usually accompanies the heart chakra opening. It only lasts for a few moments and means that the heart is re-balancing itself after an emotional release. Remember to get medical attention when needed, and to consult your doctor about any conditions you are not comfortable with.
Physical Manifestations
You may experience headache, backache, neck pain, or flu-like symptoms called vibrational flu. You may also develop digestive problems, muscular spasms, racing heartbeat, chest pains, changes in sexual desire, numbness or pain in the limbs, and involuntary tics in the muscles. Sometimes old conditions from your childhood reappear briefly for healing. You may be experiencing rashes, bumps, acne, hives, or shingles. If anger is producing outbreaks around the mouth and chin, when you work through the issue the condition will subside. You may be sloughing off toxins and bringing emotions to the surface. Seek medical help if you need it, but If you have determined that this is not a severe medical condition, then relax because this should only be temporary.
Sudden Loss of Interest
You may feel introspection, solitude, and loss of interest with your normal activities. This stage has come as a surprise to many who formerly saw themselves as outgoing and involved. They feel they do not like to go out as much, yet they are not sure why.
Creativity Bursts
You may be receiving images, ideas, music, and other creative inspirations at an often overwhelming rate. At least record these inspirations, for Spirit is speaking to you about how you might fulfill your purpose and contribute to the healing of the planet.
Time Appears to Accelerate
It seems that time is accelerating due to the many changes introduced into your life at an unprecedented rate. Breaking your day up into appointments and time segments increases the sense of acceleration. You can slow time down by relaxing into the present moment and paying attention to what is at hand, not anticipating on what is ahead. Keep your focus on the present and try to flow from one activity to the next.
Impatience
You feel you want to move on with what seems to be coming your way. Uncertainty is not comfortable, but learn to live with the uncertainty knowing that nothing comes to you until you are ready. Impatience is a lack of trust, especially trust in your Higher Power. When you focus on the present, you will experience miracles.
Electrical and Mechanical Malfunctions
When you are around, lightbulbs may flicker, the computer may lock up, or the radio may go haywire. Call on your angels or guides to fix it, or put up a field of protection of light around the machinery and equipment, then laugh.
Spiritual Track
You develop a deep yearning for a meaningful, purposeful, spiritual connection or revelation. Perhaps you have an interest in the spiritual for the first time in your life, and the material world cannot fulfill this longing. You find a spiritual track that makes sense to you and "speaks to you" on the most profound levels, and suddenly you are gaining a perspective that you would never have considered before. You hunger to know more, as you read, share with others, ask questions, and go inside to discover more about who you are and why you are here. "Teachers" appear everywhere to help you on your spiritual journey, through people, books, movies, events, even Mother Nature. They may appear to be negative or positive when you are trapped in polarity thinking, but from a transcendent perspective they are always perfect. Just what you needed to learn from and move on. You are learning and moving through personal issues at a rapid pace. You sense that you are "getting it" very quickly. You realize that it is time for you to seek and speak your truth. It suddenly seems important for you to become more authentic, more yourself. You may have to say "no" to people whom you have tried to please in the past. You may find it intolerable to stay in a marriage, job, or place that does not support who you are. You may also find there is nowhere to hide, no secrets to keep anymore. Honesty becomes important in all your relationships. Listen to your heart. If your guidance tells you not to do something, then speak up and take action. Just say "no". Likewise, you must also say "yes" to that which compels you. You must risk displeasing others without guilt in order to attain spiritual sovereignty. Remember, things will come to you when they are ready to be healed, so deal with whatever comes up with courage. Follow your heart and the way will open up for you.
